The Exhibition
The unbroken connection between the history of the Lira and that of its country will be the object of a great exhibition. Templates, coins, and bank notes will be exhibited along with memoirs that highlight the prominent events in the history of our very own Italy; the events that have marked centuries of national milestones.
The exhibition has been divided into three sectors:
Italian Currency
- Antique coins from the Roman Empire and other forefathers of the Lira
- The Italian Kingdom
- Coinages from 900 A.D. to the end of World War II
- The Republic
European Currency
- The forefathers of the Euro, strong currency that circulated in Europe, such as the "Coquette of Athens", or the silver "staters" of Alexander the Great.
- The 'Number Ones', national currencies from present-day Europe
- The Euro Era
Italian Bank Notes
- The first bank note from 1746, countersigned with the #1, AM-LIRE, colonial treasury bills, etc.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an abundance of educational material, multi-medial projections and other useful support items to aid in the social, economic, and cultural understanding of every era being examined.
